Is Jyrgalan open?
The first phase of Ala-Too Resort: what is announced, and what is confirmed.
Not yet. The Jyrgalan zone is announced to open in December 2026.
Jyrgalan is the first phase of Ala-Too Resort, a mountain cluster in the Terskey Ala-Too range above Karakol. Complete, it is planned as three zones — Jyrgalan, Ak-Bulak and Boz-Uchuk — 3,916 hectares and around 260 km of pistes. The first zone is under construction now.
A lot has been written about the project. Rather less about the trip: how you get there, where you stay, what is already running and what it costs. This guide covers the practical side.
We are based in Karakol, 40 minutes from the valley. From the start of the season we will go and record what is working on the day, with a verification date and a source against every line.

Refreshed automatically on 29 August 2026. Source: Open-Meteo at 42.44 N / 78.96 E, 2200 m. This is a model's estimate for a grid cell, not a measurement on the hill, and in a mountain valley it can be well off. Use it for the trend — loading or thawing — and nothing more.
